The Best Ninja Warrior Warm-up

A good warm-up area can change the feel of an entire competition day and they are crucial for athletes. Here's a free look at the Warm-Up module from our SPOTTED Level 1 Certification.

This 7 minute warm-up is a foundation for 60 minute classes. The Best Ninja Warrior Warm-up should be tailored to be more specific or more in-depth as needed.

THE WNS WARM UP AREA at Obstacle Sports Expo 2026

At the 2026 Obstacle Sports Expo, we had the chance to sponsor the athlete warm-up area and build a space that gave Ninjas room to move, test skills, shake out nerves, and have fun before stepping onto the course. It was built for competition prep, but it became more than that. It became a gathering spot for athletes, parents, coaches, and fans who care about the sport and the people in it.

We heard from athletes who appreciated the number of obstacles available. We heard from parents who were grateful for a safe, well-run space. We saw kids and adults get a few extra reps, loosen up, and smile before their runs. When the area was not too crowded, we also opened it up for play, which helped take pressure off parents and gave athletes another way to enjoy the event.

That part matters to us.

WHAT WE BROUGHT TO THE WARM UP AREA

Our goal for the warm-up area was simple. Athletes needed a space that felt useful, organized, and safe.

That means more than placing a few obstacles in a corner. The Best Ninja Warrior Warm-up area has to work for different ages, sizes, skill levels, and pre-run routines. Some athletes want to move through light drills. Some want to test grip. Some want to rehearse a movement pattern. Some just need a good place to burn off nerves before hearing their name called.

WE LET ATHLETES PLAY WHEN SPACE ALLOWED

One of the best parts of the weekend happened between the packed moments.

When the warm-up area was not too crowded, we let athletes play in the space. That choice made the warm-up are feel less like an afterthought and more like a real part of the event experience.

Play is a foundation for Ninja training!
